For more than six decades, the Saskatoon SPCA has operated the city pound. Every year, we care for thousands of lost, abused or unwanted animals. We reunite pets with owners, and help animals find their fur-ever home.
As Saskatoon has grown, so too has the demand for pound services. But more funding is needed to keep pace with the demands for our services.
Currently the SPCA is only receiving 37 per cent of the funds needed to operate the pound. Generous donations have been subsidizing this essential public service.
The situation is dire. Without an immediate increase of funding from the City of Saskatoon, the SCPA can no longer provide pound services for the community.
