The three CUPE unions at the Lac Leamy Casino have all signed a tentative agreement with Loto-Québec. Yesterday, the union representing the 80 security guards and surveillance technicians (CUPE 3959) announced the ratification of their tentative agreement.
The membership voted unanimously in favour of this agreement at a videoconference last night.
The collective agreement calls for wage hikes of 2 per cent for 2018, 2019 and 2020, 3 per cent for 2021 and 2022 respectively, 2.5 per cent for 2023 and 2 per cent for 2024. Moreover, an hourly premium of 91 cents for personnel working weekends will rise to $2.50.
“I am proud of the results of these negotiations, which were difficult. However, I’m even more proud of the support I received from the members throughout this marathon,” declared Michel Despatie, president of CUPE 3959.
With the adoption of this third agreement, the work atmosphere is gradually improving at the Lac Leamy Casino where the three unions had begun their pressure tactics not too long ago.
“I’d like to offer my personal thanks to all members for their patience and solidarity. Their wages will be significantly increased thanks largely to them,” said CUPE union representative Guy Gosselin.
