At a special general meeting held last September 30 and October 1, 59% of the members of the Syndicat des employés manuels de la Ville de Québec, CUPE local 1638, approved by secret ballot the tentative agreement reached with the Ville de Québec last September 17.
The new five-year agreement runs from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2023. Blue collar employees will receive wage increases of 2% for 2019 and 1.5 to 2% for 2020 to 2023 inclusive.
In addition to these increases, several premiums included in the collective agreement were awarded due to some arrangements made with respect to work organization.
The parties also made some changes to the collective contract of employment regarding work schedules, group insurance and parking charges.
