CUPE is expanding its inventory of qualified candidates to fill short and long-term temporary specialist assignments that may arise from time to time, at the National office in Ottawa and its numerous offices across the country.

There are immediate needs for qualified bilingual candidates with excellent written and verbal skills in both official languages.

Candidates to specialist positions should have demonstrated relevant experience and education in the specialized fields of communications, legal services, equality, research, health and safety, job evaluation, or adult education.

All candidates must have knowledge, experience and commitment to the trade union movement. They must all be familiar with issues that unions face, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to effectively work with people at all levels within the union, government, and other organizations.

Candidates should have extensive knowledge and experience, hold a university degree or certificate in a related field, or a combination of relevant education and direct work experience. Candidates should also be free to travel and work weekends, as needed.

Salaries vary with position. Minimum starting salary is $1,964.15 per week.
