Need for a progressive new board all the greater with Jan Grude’s departure, says CUPE BC
The sudden retirement this week of Pacific Blue Cross President and CEO Jan Grude, which takes effect immediately, only reinforces the need for a progressive new board of directors at the non-profit benefits provider, CUPE BC President Paul Faoro said in response to the news.
“The need for new leadership at Pacific Blue Cross, from the management group to the board of directors, has been glaring for some time,” said Faoro.
“During this time of transition, as the search begins for a new CEO, it’s more important than ever that PBC plan members have an opportunity to vote for a new board that can steer the company in a more progressive direction.”
Faoro said the slate of new candidates running for board at the upcoming annual general meeting offers a wealth of experience and expertise that will be necessary to protect beneficiaries and their families while returning stability to the workplace for Pacific Blue Cross employees.
“I encourage all members who are primary PBC plan holders to attend the AGM and vote for a progressive new board,” said Faoro.
