Members of the community social services bargaining committee will be returning to the bargaining table next week, in an attempt to reach a new collective agreement.
Bargaining will resume on Monday, March 21.
Key demands include job security, improved language and work place rights.
HEU bargaining representatives say this gives government and employers a critical opportunity to negotiate an agreement that provides members with greater stability and improved working conditions.
The Community Social Services Bargaining Association, which includes HEU and eight other unions representing workers in the sector, will continue with preparations for potential job action in the event it is not possible to achieve a tentative settlement.
CSSBA represents 15,000 workers in 220 agencies across the province.
