THUNDER BAY, ON Paul Moist, national president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, will join striking North of Superior Programs Workers for a picket rally and Were getting scrooged demonstration outside the Thunder Bay offices of the Ontario ministry of Health and Long Term Care tomorrow, Friday, December 17th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Strike background: Thirty women who offer mental health, addiction counselling, gambling counselling, integrated services for northern children, have been on strike since June 26th, and theres no end in sight to the strike that has deprived northern communities of important mental health and social services for nearly six months. NOSP management today refused an offer from CUPE Local 3253 to send outstanding issues to arbitration, a move that would have ended the strike. NOSP is funded by the Ontario government, through the ministries of Health and Long Term Care, and Children and Youth Services.
