And globalization has a direct impact on immigration policies. There are increased restrictions on the movement of people in order to advance economic interests. Even as money, goods and services move without restriction, people from other countries are used both at home and abroad as a cheap source of labour. Immigration policies that are based on using people as cheap sources of labour promote further intolerance and discrimination.
