Plus de 4 000 travailleurs seront ramenés à l’interne, mettant ainsi fin à la politique de privatisation des 20 dernières années ayant entraîné une baisse des salaires des femmes et des travailleurs de couleur ainsi qu’une fragmentation de l’équipe des travailleurs de la santé.

Le Syndicat des employés d’hôpitaux s’est battu pendant 16 ans afin de faire annuler des lois du travail discriminatoires envers ses membres et il a finalement eu gain de cause. En novembre dernier, le gouvernement néo-démocrate de la province a annulé les lois 29 et 94 adoptées par l’ancien gouvernement libéral.
