After more than fifty negotiating sessions, outside municipal workers in Quebec City represented by CUPE 1638 reached a tentative agreement with la Ville de Québec on Tuesday, September 17.

The collective agreement was renewed for five years – from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2023. The 1,100 municipal workers had been without a collective agreement since December 31, 2018.

The union and the City agreed not to disclose or comment on the content of the tentative agreement before the employees have had a chance to review it at general meetings on September 30 and October 1.
