AURORA, ON – Members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 905 will hold an information picket at 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 16 at Aurora City Hall.

“We are in bargaining again tomorrow and hope we can negotiate a fair contract with the Town,” said CUPE 905 President Derek Bakshi. “Following yesterday’s successful demonstration, we believe that our visible presence while our bargaining team is meeting with the Town will add support for the team and let the Town know how serious we are.”

Aurora Unit of CUPE Local 905 is in a legal strike position at midnight Monday, September 20.

“We don’t want to strike,” Bakshi continued. “However, the Aurora outside workers are the lowest paid in the entire Region of York. We’re just asking that they be brought up to the regional average.”

Town of Aurora City Hall is located at 1 Municipal Drive in Aurora.
