The CUPE Manitoba Contracting-Out and Political Action Committee (COPAC)
held an election briefing on Wednesday, January 11th with Barb Byers,
Executive Vice-President of the CLC and Pat Martin, Member of Parliament for
Winnipeg Centre. Pictured here are Barb, Pat behind her and Tracey Beastall,
COPAC Co-chair.

They emphasized the importance of this election for putting politicians in
parliament who are clearly against privatization of public services. Both
the Liberals and Conservatives are suspect on commitments to public health
care for example - the Liberals have been soft on privatization while the
Conservatives have been supportive.
