SQDC strike: another unit joins the movement for improved working conditions

Employees with the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) in Rouyn-Noranda in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region has also voted in favour of going out on strike.

By doing so, these seven members joined the other 300 employees represented by CUPE who have been on strike since May 19, 2022.

The workers are demanding working conditions befitting a Crown Corporation.

Seventeen outlets unanimously rejected the employer’s last offer on December 6, 2022, which was turned down by more than 94% of the membership across the 26 units. The employer has not made a counteroffer since that time.
