Following the rejection of the tentative agreement earlier this week, CUPE 3535, representing the some 800 warehouse and delivery employees with the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ), returned to the bargaining table. Fruitful exchanges ensued, but it was decided that a short break was needed. The parties will continue talks this Monday.
“With the Holiday Season approaching, we are doing all we can to reach a new agreement. We’re taking a break for a few days, as both parties must do their homework to return with proposals on Monday,” said Michel Gratton, CUPE union representative.
Union representatives will not be giving any interviews for the time being. All energy will be focused on negotiations to renew the collective agreement.
