Every year, millions of Canadians experience repetitive strain injuries (RSIs). These injuries are a family of painful disorders affecting tendons, muscles, nerves and joints. They cause persistent or recurring pains most commonly in the neck, shoulders, forearms, hands, wrists, and elbows. RSIs are an all too common cause of CUPE members’ suffering.

Internationally, the last day of February is recognized as a day to raise awareness about repetitive strain injuries, and spread awareness about the importance of reporting symptoms and hazards in your workplace.
