There are some new sources of information and ideas in the fight against P3s. The BC office of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives has published a special P3 primer, one in a series of primers on social and economic issues. The real bottom line looks at the true cost of P3s, compiling the long list of P3 failures. The fact sheet includes stories from across Canada, and is a valuable resource for locals on the lookout for or fighting P3s.

The CCPA-BC has also published the proceedings of a recent BC forum that assessed the record of P3s. CUPE co-sponsored the forum, which featured presentations about the economic pitfalls of P3s, the dangers of P3 schools, the failings of British PFI hospitals, and the American experience with prison privatization.

The eight-page fact sheet and the P3 forum presentations are available to download as Adobe Acrobat .pdf files at www.policyalternatives.ca.
