Participants will explore what should happen when there’s an incident in the workplace as described in the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The workshop will cover notices and other reports, the IRS, investigations, inspections and recommendations. Participants will use their own terms of reference and workplace violence and harassment prevention policy(ies) and program(s) to apply the knowledge to their specific working condition and strategize how to make improvements.
Participants would need a copy of their Terms of Reference for their committee and a copy of their workplace violence and harassment prevention policy and program. These could be two different policies or contained in the same policy and program.

In response to the health concerns of our members and staff, CUPE has implemented a Scent-Free Policy at all of our workshops. Scented products such as hair spray, perfume and deodorant can trigger reactions such as respiratory distress and headaches. Facilitators and participants are asked to refrain from using scented products while attending our workshops and meetings. Thank you for your cooperation.
