The Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) regulates the collection, use and disclosure of personal information and personal employee information by private sector organizations in Alberta. Trade Unions and their Locals are required to designate an individual to be a contact person that ensures their Local’s compliance with PIPA.
Please join us while we review the duties of Privacy Officers, provide and review sample Privacy Policies for Locals and start the groundwork for a Privacy Officer Network for CUPE Locals in Alberta. This Network is open to all Privacy Officers in Alberta

In response to the health concerns of our members and staff, CUPE has implemented a Scent-Free Policy at all of our workshops. Scented products such as hair spray, perfume and deodorant can trigger reactions such as respiratory distress and headaches.
