After voting in favour of using pressure tactics and refusing to work overtime, the union representing maintenance employees at the STO has announced that a tentative agreement has been reached between the parties.
“We’re thrilled to make this announcement and are proud of the work that has been done. The mobilization and support of members were instrumental in successfully concluding these negotiations. We’re proud to be an important link in the public transit service in our region,” declared Steve Beaudin, president of CUPE 5440.
The union, which represents these employees who work in STO garages, will present the agreement to union members at a general meeting to take place as soon as possible. In the meantime, no details about the agreement will be disclosed.
