Sister Helen Kennedy, from CUPE 79, is the recipient of this year’s Grace Hartman award, an honour created 10 years ago to celebrate the leadership role of CUPE National’s first woman president.
Like sister Grace, Helen is a tireless champion of equality and promoter of women in leadership. She’s inclusive, inspiring and a great example of how women make our union strong.
Sister Kennedy, who was actively involved in CUPE National Women’s Task Force, thanked her family for their support and all the sisters and brothers who helped her along the way for their activism and equity work.
