33 inside and outside workers with Golf Dorval have signed a new collective agreement today.
The members held a general meeting on January 18 and voted 92 per cent in favour of the tentative agreement reached between the union and management. The previous collective agreement expired January 1, 2021.
The four-year contract calls for salary increases totalling 10.5 per cent in addition to improvements to sick and floating days for regular employees and the addition of two paid days of sick leave for seasonal employees.
This new contract also includes an increase in the allowance for safety boots and tools for mechanics. In addition, the entire staff will receive discounts on golf games.
“We’re quite proud of the clauses we negotiated. We reached a win-win agreement in an atmosphere of mutual respect. The staff is looking forward to seeing the clientele next summer,” declared CUPE union representative Caroline Labelle.
Golf Dorval is a public golf course owned by the City of Dorval and includes an 18-hole course, a practice range, reception rooms and a miniature golf set-up.
