The theme of CUPE’s second National Sector Council Conference is “Organizing for success.” We’ll explore this theme across regions and sectors in plenary. Speakers will highlight the central role of organizing in building stronger communities and stronger CUPE locals. We’ll also explore the impact of an expanded CPP on our pension bargaining, as well as how we can use our collective agreements to end workplace violence and harassment. Expect these sessions to spark many ideas and conversations!

There will also be lots of time for sector-specific work. Over the course of the conference, education workers will meet to discuss:

  • Workplace violence, bullying and harassment 

  • The union advantage in our sector

  • Communicating our successes
