CUPE is sending its deepest sympathies to those impacted by the collision involving Air Canada Jazz Flight 8646 at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, in particular, the families and loved ones of the two pilots who passed away. We are also sending sincere wishes for a fast recovery to everyone injured in the incident.
CUPE extends its solidarity to the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA) and the Canadian Flight Attendant Union (CFAU), who represent pilots and Jazz flight attendants respectively, and is offering any assistance in this difficult moment.
We salute the courage of the flight attendants and other first responders who responded bravely to this terrifying incident.
