The Canadian Union of Public Employees is pleased to welcome new members at Tabor Home in Morden, Manitoba.  A certificate to join CUPE was issued by the Manitoba Labour Board on December 14, 2016.

“CUPE Manitoba has a strong presence in personal care homes,” said Kelly Moist, President of CUPE Manitoba. “We are pleased to welcome new members into CUPE Local 4270, Tabor Home, and we will work hard to represent them.”

CUPE now represents approximately 20 additional members at Tabor Home, along with more than 2,300 long term care workers in communities across Manitoba. The new Tabor Home members work in activities, laundry, and housekeeping departments, and will join existing Tabor Home members in dietary and health care aide positions.

Added Moist: “We are proud that our Tabor Home group is growing.”

The Canadian Union of Public Employees is Canada’s largest union representing more than a half-million members.  In Manitoba, CUPE represents approximately 25,000 members working in health care facilities, personal care homes, school divisions, municipal services, social services, child care centres, public utilities, libraries and family emergency services.
