CUPE’s National Executive Board voted on Sept. 26 to donate $10,000 to Oxfam Canada in support of its work aiding refugees affected by the Syrian conflict. Two and a half years into the civil war, more than 100,000 people have lost their lives and almost seven million are in need of assistance according to the UN.

CUPE is working with and supporting our allies in the Canadian peace movement to resist any move toward western military intervention and to support a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Read the resolution.
