CUPE members from across the province gathered in Saskatoon for the annual general meeting, AGM, of the CUPE CBO Workers of Saskatchewan Committee. Members who work in community-based organizations (CBOs) met to elect committee representatives and update their bylaws for the year ahead.

CUPE Saskatchewan President Kent Peterson and CUPE Saskatchewan Regional Director Lori Sutherland brought greetings to the AGM, acknowledging the critical role CBO workers play in supporting individuals, families, and communities across Saskatchewan.

Members elected Christie MacNeill as the new committee chair.

“This committee plays an important role in advocating for our members around issues facing our sector – including funding instability, turnover and staffing shortages, lack of transparency and accountability, and occupational health and safety,” said MacNeill. “I look forward to working with members from across the province to strengthen our collective voice.”

The committee also announced that its new website is now live. Members can find updates, resources, and contact information at: www.cbosk.cupe.ca
