CUPE 2850, The Syndicat du personnel administratif, technique et professionnel du transport en commun, at the Société de transport de Montréal, STM, announced that it has reached a tentative agreement with the employer. The strike scheduled for November 19 has therefore been cancelled.
“We’re delighted to have reached an agreement. We won’t be making any further comment until our members learn its details,” explained Stéphane Lamont, president of CUPE 2850.
The 1,300-strong union voted in favour of a strike mandate in May 2025, a first in CUPE’s 40-year history.
The collective agreement expired on January 4, 2025.
