Theres no new funding for post-secondary education in this years budget nor is there any relief for students shouldering crippling debt loads.
Instead the government has continued to invest in boutique programs many of them intended to channel funds to private sector research like the promise of new funding for internet initiatives. As well, theres a one-shot contribution of $200 million to help universities and teaching hospitals cover indirect research costs.
