(Kentville) - Town of Kentville municipal workers have voted unanimously to reject a final contract offer from the town.

The 22 members of CUPE Local 4403 are public works employees, parks and rec., custodians and arenas.

Their contract expired March 31, 2001. The main issues in dispute are hours of work, seniority, job security and wages. The town is also attempting to freeze the salaries of some arena employees.

The unions next step is a strike vote, which will be scheduled shortly.
