CUPE members from across Newfoundland and Labrador shared tips, stories and advice at a recent conference devoted to fighting contracting-out and privatization. Among the tips shared at the event:

- Keep it simple and present your arguments clearly
- Communicate with your members, including starting a local newsletter
- Use available CUPE resources (national, division, area office)
- Show CUPE members’ important community role
- Keep a close eye on the privateers and their agenda
