At a Town Hall Meeting yesterday, MP Pat Martin (left) addressed about 40 community members interested in party positions affecting new Canadians. While Reg Alcock agreed to participate, the Liberals withdrew at the last moment.

The event was organized by Local 2348 members who work at Welcome Place, a support centre for immigrants and refugees coming to Winnipeg. Standing in the background is Hani Al-Ubedy, CUPE Shop Steward at Welcome Place, who was chair for the panel of politicians.
