(Corner Brook) – CUPE Newfoundland and Labrador President Wayne Lucas will be in Daniel’s Harbour tomorrow (June 20) to present a cheque for $7,500.

The money was raised from locals and delegates from across the province who attended the union’s recent provincial convention in Gander.

ATTENTION ASSIGNMENT/PHOTO EDITORS:  Lucas will be at the Daniel’s Harbour Town Hall at noon, June 20 to present the cheque to the town mayor.  Local CUPE activists will also be on hand.

Says Lucas, “This is a small way for our union to show support to residents of Daniel’s Harbour as they work to rebuild from the recent landslides there. CUPE calls itself the communities union, and this is just one of the many ways we give back to our communities.”
