Quebec, Friday, October 13, 2000 The International Conference of Energy Trade Unions, which has brought together delegates from France, Italy, Germany, Japan, Ontario and Quebec, as well as observers from Belgium, Argentina, Switzerland, Manitoba and Alberta, supports the struggle of workers in Quebecs municipal sector for the right to free collective bargaining.

As it draws to a close today in Quebec City, the Conference has shown its concrete support by delegating Claude Gnreux, President of CUPE-Quebec, to deliver this message of solidarity directly to the blue-collar workers in Sainte-Foy on the picket line which will be erected this morning in front of the municipalitys City Hall.
