CUPE marks World Aids Day
Dec 1, 2011 09:17 AM Many CUPE members work with people with HIV or AIDS, and some suffer from it themselves. It’s important that we work together to ensure that people living with HIV or AIDS, whether they’re patients, clients or coworkers, aren’t subjected to stigmatization or discrimination because of this disease. Their rights to treatment and accommodation must be protected. It’s also important that appropriate health and safety standards be put in place for at-risk workers. more »
Yes, you! CUPE launches new HIV/AIDS poster
Nov 30, 2011 08:49 AM CUPE is proud to launch a new poster: “Yes, You! HIV/AIDS is a workers’ issue.” CUPE locals are encouraged to put them up on union bulletin boards, in staff rooms and in union offices to break the stigma of silence and fear surrounding HIV and AIDS. more »

May 24, 2011 10:25 AM Please join with us in writing to the Canadian Minister of Health to make sure that workplace-based responses to HIV and AIDS are part of the declaration in the 2011 UN General Assembly Comprehensive AIDS Review. more »
