Defending the rights of workers around the world is what CUPE global justice work is about. Solidarity is our strength and it is the way forward toward a strong movement to push back against oppression, privatization and austerity, and move toward global justice.
We draw inspiration and lessons from the diverse experiences of struggle around the world. CUPE continues to learn from, and support our sisters and brothers globally through our affiliation with Public Service International (PSI), and by continuing to build worker-to-worker solidarity projects through our Global Justice Fund.

The fund welcomes contributions from CUPE locals, councils, divisions and committees as well as individual CUPE members and staff.
National Global Justice Committee
The National Global Justice Committee administers CUPE’s Global Justice Fund and provides focus to CUPE’s global justice work. This committee’s work with strategic international partners helps build a global movement to oppose corporate privatization, trade, deregulation, and increased threats to security, peace and human rights.

CUPE joins global push for gender justice at UN
From March 9 to 15, CUPE joined 180 union women from over 42 countries to fight for the rights of women and girls at the 63rd annual session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York City. This year’s session focused on social programs and public services as the keys to fighting inequality.

CUPE marks International Migrants Day
On December 18, CUPE stands in solidarity with people around the world who have been forced to leave their homes in search of safety, security and a life where basic human and labour rights are respected. International Migrants Day is a day to renew our collective work to build a better world, a world where everyone has dignity and respect at work and in all aspects of their lives, and where migrants do not face exploitation as workers because of their precarious immigration status.
