Thanks for support says CUPE 72 as its strike enters week nine.

Local 72 is fighting to keep benefits retirees have received since anyone can remember, says local president Ken Hull.

Since North Bay Council appointed an arms length board to run North Bay Hydro, weve had all sorts of difficulties with our employer, not the least of which is this strike, says Hull.

Before the board was appointed, the local hydro utility was run by elected representatives. Now theres no accountability. We know this fight will be a long one, says Hull. Thats why the support weve been receiving from our sisters and brothers is so appreciated.

Donations can be sent to CUPE 72 Strike Fund c/o CUPE Area Office, 180 Shirreff Avenue #260, North Bay, ON P1B 7K9. Messages of support can be faxed to (705) 472-1054
