March 22, World Water Day, is fast approaching, and again this year CUPE is working in coalition with the Council of Canadians and KAIROS to stop privatization and promote public water.

Once again we’d like to offer a range of activities and encourage as much cooperation as possible among CUPE locals, KAIROS and other church groups, Council chapters and other community groups. Last year, we collaborated on more than 60 events and we hope to do even more this year, and draw in even more people from throughout our communities.

Plans are still being finalized, but will include organizing book clubs, video screenings, municipal declarations and lobbying MPs. Watch the CUPE web site for more information, coming soon. If you’re planning something in your community, let us know by writing to kjordan@cupe.ca.
