“Bits and pieces” budget lacks vision for Canadian workers
Mar 22, 2011 04:41 PM The Harper Conservatives’ insistence on moving ahead with corporate tax cuts in the 2011 federal budget is irresponsible, and will do little to help Canadian workers. Banks, the finance industry, and oil companies are showing huge profits, while tens of thousands of Canadians are still without jobs and struggling to recover from the global economic meltdown. It is unconscionable for this government to keep ignoring the needs of Canadians in favour of their Bay Street backers. more »
CUPE response to federal budget 2011
Mar 22, 2011 10:14 AM Later today the federal government will release its annual budget. The Finance Minister will release the budget at 4:00 pm on March 22. CUPE will respond very quickly with a news release and an overview and analysis of key measures announced in the budget. These will be posted as soon as possible to cupe.ca/budget-2011. more »
