TORONTO With a strike deadline of July 14 looming, frontline social services workers with the Catholic Childrens Aid Society of Toronto (CCAS) will hold an information picket in front of the Ramada Inn Downtown on Jarvis St. this morning (July 10).

Thats where contract talks between CUPE 2190 and the Society are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. today, with the help of a Ministry of Labour mediator.

The main issue in dispute is workload and the impact it is having on workers ability to protect children who may be at risk.

(ASSIGNMENT/PHOTO EDITORS: The CCAS workers will be picketing in front of the Ramada Inn Downtown at 300 Jarvis St. (near Gerrard), between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. They will be wearing bright t-shirts that say, Its about Fairness and Respect and handing out flyers to the public.)
