VANCOUVER - Striking BC Ambulance Paramedics will be out in force today (Tuesday, April 7th) at Premier Gordon Campbell’s 11am unofficial campaign launch at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre at the foot of Granville Street.
The paramedics will be joining a BC Federation of Labour $1.25 hot dog lunch outside Campbell’s Liberal Party $125-a-plate fundraiser.

More than 30 members of the Ambulance Paramedics of BC converged on the Nanaimo Trade and Convention Centre on Saturday to “greet” Campbell as he arrived for a luncheon. Not only did Campbell notice the information line; he also spoke briefly with CUPE 873 members. Ambulance paramedics also caught up with NDP leader Carole James outside a meeting on Sunday where she offered her support for their calls for improved emergency services.

The 3,500 BC ambulance paramedics have been on strike since last Wednesday. They continue to operate ambulances under essential services legislation.
