CUPE Manitoba has called on the Doer government to ensure social services in the province get the funding they need.

In a brief to the provinces finance minister, division president Paul Moist says adequate funding for social services should be a center piece of a provincial economic strategy.

Citing the large surplus, Moist says, Its up to the government to use these resources and stimulate all sectors of the economy to do their part for Manitoba. To adequately fund Manitobas public services is a wise component of Manitobas investment strategy.
