As the new school year begins, CUPE Saskatchewan stands with education workers and students as they return to crowded classrooms, inadequate supports, and not enough staff.

“CUPE education support workers love their jobs, but it’s getting harder and harder to support students after years of Scott Moe’s deep cuts and short staffing,” said Kent Peterson, president of CUPE Saskatchewan. “Students, parents, and education workers know our schools feel broken – because Scott Moe broke them.”

But it doesn’t have to be this way, we can fix Saskatchewan’s schools.

“This fall, Saskatchewan people have the chance to vote for better schools and supported classrooms,” added Peterson. “This province deserves so much more than broken schools – it’s time for a change.”

CUPE represents over 7,000 education support workers in 40 classifications across Saskatchewan.
