CUPE’s Airline Division is applying to certify 300 flight attendants working for Royal Airlines as CUPE members.

The Airline Division represents approximately 9,000 flight attendants across the country.

Royal Airlines has its headquarters in Montreal. It also operates bases in Toronto and Vancouver.

“We’re thrilled to have Royal’s flight attendants as members,” Airline Division president Denise Hill said today. “It was a really tough organizing drive, but they signed up overwhelmingly.”

“Royal flight attendants have serious issues related to working conditions and health and safety. We’re really looking forward to working with them,” Hill said.

A formal application to represent the flight attendants was filed Friday, September 18, in Toronto.
