One thousand, two hundred support staff workers with the Affluents School Board, northeast of Montreal, have chosen CUPE to represent them. The Board is one of the largest in the province, created by the formation last summer of new boards organized on linguistic lines. CUPE beat out CSN in the balloting.

This past week, they were joined by 108 support staff with the James Bay board. Again, the CUPE defeated the CSN, drawing 68 of the 108 votes.
