PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – Representatives of food service workers at Trent University have expressed satisfaction at the progress resulting from meetings between them and Compass Group Canada.

The meetings were scheduled as Compass prepared to take over the food service contract for Trent University. Representatives from the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and Compass began meeting on April 17 and their discussions have continued this week.

Both parties are working closely to ensure a smooth transition as Compass takes over the contract as the food service provider at Trent.

“The food service workers of CUPE Local 3205 look forward to a future partnership with Compass,” said Christine Lang, national representative for CUPE.
