Mackenzie Society Ventures has been unable to provide a clear reason as to why they are closing this group home, which they receive funding from the provincial government to operate.
If the home is closed, the impact will be greatest felt on the residents who live there. Several of the residents are elderly, and it is unclear where they will be relocated to if the home closes.
Group Home Three provides essential housing and care to those with disabilities. This is their community, where they’re cared for by dedicated staff. These residents should not be forced out of their home, and staff should not have to lose their jobs with no real explanation.
The residents and staff at Group Home Three deserve better.
The community came together to support this group home when it first opened back in 2001. The residents who live there and the staff who care for them are a part of the community, and they need your support once again to ensure that this home stays open.
