The Joint Board of Trustees met in June 2002 to discuss issues of the Plan, such as the filing of the Actuarial Valuation as at January 1, 2002, the 2001 Annual Report and the 2001 Pension Fund Audit.
Brother Ed Scott, Retiree Trustee on the Joint Board of Trustees, resigned at the June meeting. Brother Raymond Arsenault, Alternate Retiree Trustee will be replacing Brother Scott, as Retiree Trustee until the end of the term (December 2003). We are currently running election for the Alternate Retiree Trustee position.
A copy of the 2001 Annual report along with the member annual statement for year ending 2001 was sent out to all pension plan members at the end of June.
The Trustees and the Settlors held their Annual General meeting last week to discuss activities of the CUPE plan.
Arrangements for a pre-retirement seminar for eligible pension plan members will be held in Burnaby, BC on September 29 and 30. There is also a possibility of a pre-retirement seminar to be held in Ottawa on November 3 and 4. Arrangements are yet to be finalized.
