(Halifax) – A tentative agreement has been reached between five unions and the NSAHO in the dispute over pensions.

The deal was reached early this morning after both sides returned to the table Sunday. It is pending on a settlement being reached by CUPE and the CAW on all other outstanding issues. Both unions have strike deadlines.

CUPE is scheduled to return to the table this morning on those outstanding issues.

No details of the agreement can be released and both CUPE and the CAW have agreed to hold off on any possible strike action until November 6.

A demonstration planned by CUPE, CAW, NSNU, NSGEU and SEIU members for the provincial legislature has been postponed, pending the outcome of conciliation.

(ATTENTION ASSIGNMENT/PHOTO EDITORS: The rally set for 6:00 pm tonight at the Legislature has been postponed.)
