Following a three-day negotiation blitz, CUPE is proud to announce that representatives of the 2100 Air Transat flight attendants and the employer have reached a tentative agreement, which will be presented to the members in the coming days. The flight attendants had previously voted 99.8% in favour of a strike mandate.
“We’re convinced that the agreement will meet our members’ expectations. We’re anxious to submit it to them. We should have a final result of the vote in early January,” said Dominic Levasseur, president of CUPE’s Air Transat Component.
CUPE’s Airline Division represents more than 18,500 members employed by ten airlines: Air Canada, WestJet, Air Transat, Sunwing, Calm Air, Flair Airlines, PAL Airlines, Pascan Aviation, Pivot and Canadian North. CUPE also represents maintenance staff at five municipal airports.
