The Ontario Labour Relations Board today certified CUPE as the union for workers at Youthdale Treatment Centres, a youth and family mental health agency operating in Toronto and Magnetawan, Ontario.
“This is a strong and dedicated group of workers who are looking forward to having a stronger voice in their workplace,” said Craig Saunders, a CUPE representative who is involved in the drive.
The vote was overwhelmingly positive. As of today, the group of more than 150 workers including child and youth workers, social workers, psychologists, housekeepers, child care workers and registered nurses are CUPE members.
